Temperature and humidity measurement
Working with resin requires ensuring certain conditions. The first important condition is the working temperature. LPourArt epoxy resin requires a temperature of ideally 22 - 23°C for proper curing. At this temperature, the casting resin has the correct consistency, ensuring the curing process proceeds ideally and without defects. Low temperatures, below 18°C, will prolong the curing process, and around 15°C or less, the casting resin risks improper curing, a wrinkled surface, deformations in transparency, and poor resulting mechanical properties. The opposite problem can occur with unnecessarily high ambient temperatures of 25°C. The casting resin will cure too quickly. The second, equally important condition is low air humidity, which should be around 50% (relative air humidity). Increased humidity of 70-80% is not good for casting resin. Epoxy resins tend to absorb airborne moisture, which negatively affects the quality of the curing. For example, on flat castings - resin coasters, we can recognise increased air humidity by milky spots on the surface, resembling crushed ice, and the surface is wrinkled.
