How to Choose a Creative Kit
- What do you want to make: letter/monogram, dog tag, lidded jar, round clock, coaster… Choose a kit with a corresponding form.
- Package contents: check each kit to see if resin is included. If it is not, it is usually stated on the product and can be easily added to the basket.
- Components and details: metal parts (eyelets, chains, clock mechanisms), stoppers/lids, or templates or labels for description.
- Number of pieces and size: some kits allow you to make multiple pieces at once
What the set usually contains
Most often, a silicone mould for the selected product, practical tools for mixing and pouring (measuring cups, cups, stirrers, pipettes) and components for finishing (e.g. hooks/chains for tags, lids for jars, movements and hands for clocks). Some kits also add mini pigments or glitter for an eye-catching look.
Tips for a beautiful result
- Work in a dry, dust-free environment and pour in a thin stream – bubbles will have less chance.
- For fine details (e.g. letters) it is better to pour in two thinner layers.
- For dog tags, consider a contrasting pigment or an embedded name tag for better readability.
- For clocks, prepare the centre hole in advance and carefully fit the movement according to the instructions after hardening.
